It's Been A While..

CHANGE OF PLANS: Ive been thinking lately, maybe God didnt want me working at holy family in orange. Maybe at this point in time, Im not called to be a youf minister. Probably cuz I have so many other things going on, that I wouldnt be able to handle it all. At the same time, God saw the progess made at fern street. The turn around in the attitudes of some of the kids, obviously I cant expect perfectection but I do take pride of how much things have changed. Being away from the center for a couple of months and coming back hearing all the 'horror' stories of how the kids were was a little hmm intimidating? I dont even think thas the right words to use, but I dont know if I was capable of handling it. Though God totally took care of it all. I mean I look at the faces of these kids errday I come in and I see how much they love coming to the center. Even the one w/the worst behavior problems. The relationships that have been made w/these kids, its amazing. Their smiles on their face truly says it all, so I guess for now, Im stuck in stanton.

MIA: I've been missing in action in this online blog world. I feel there's so much reading to catch up on ha! Its kinda like when you miss a day of work and your inbox is juss full of paperwork. There really hasnt been a whole lot of time to blog, I juss get too tired at nite or juss too lazy to blog anything. Actually too, these past few days Ive been at 24 hr. so by the time I get home Im too tired to even turn on the computer. So I gotta get back on the blog train and catch up on whas going on in these people's lives.

24 HOURS: Since monday, Ive been taking advantage of my 24 hr. fitness account. I do the whole late nite work out, where I go at around 11pm. On monday, I went to the la mirada gym and it was pretty empty. It was cool juss checking out wha there was to do. Then tuesday, and wednesday, I went to the los al gym. I kinda perfer that one cuz #1 its closer, and its a little busier, but its cool seeing people. In fact you know how you always manage to run into people at the gym? Tuesday, I ran into this girl who I had gone to jr. high with. I went to hs w/her sister who graduated 2 years after I did. We always said we were cousins cuz her last name is my middle name, 'parel.' Anyway, it was funny cuz we were talking blah while she was on the 'antelope' machine, then her bf comes up and she intro. me to her bf. Which I had juss seen like 5 min. earlier workng on something else. ha

FEELING IT: Im feelin the whole 24 hrs fitness thing. I want try out the one by my house, actually I juss wanna walk over thurr and then work out thhen walk home. That'd be the perfect work out! The past few nites, Ive done a mixture of different things. I like treadmeal and the stair master really pushes my legs to the max. Doing the stairmaster is like doing stadiums in high skool. We had a pretty big football stadium in hs, so for work out we would do snakes on the stadium. Talk bout fat burner! Not only do I leave feeling sore, but hungry at teh same time. I have to tell myself not to eat, otherwise I wouldve defeated the whole purpose of working out.

TAP TAP: Went to theo. on tap on tues. nite, really good speaker. He was a vincentian priest speaking bout the age of science on catholic morality. Hardcore speaker w/a lot of great information, but he had to speed through it. The material had really caught my attention and you know they're a good a speaker if they can make me sit still and listen through the whole talk. Anyway, a lot of great stuff such on stem cell research, cloning, death penality etc. A couple of d0pe things he mentioned was the difference between catholics and protestants. He said, 'we(as in catholics)are NOT sola scriptura, we are word and sacrament.' We create community through prayer and sacrament.

SPIRIT GAMES: It'll be a year this coming sunday, that the first annual spirit games took place wow! AS many of you know that ministry is like my baby. Im glad to see the progess we've made this year. It has not been one easy one thas for sure, but as I was telling jon, maybe this was God's way of askng us to peresevere through prayer, to not loose focus on the goal. On monday, we met up and started testng out some of the games. Im excited for this big project to come together. I didnt think the liturgy and mass was gonna be so difficult but its a big job! Juss finding a priest to celebrate mass is a job itself! All in all, Im juss excited that it's actually taking place againi this year. Even better its in my own backyard! woOo!
