Goodbye Summer!
"What shall I say? Everything that I could say would fade into insignificance compared with what my heart feels, and your hearts feel, at this moment..."
SUMMER '05 IN REVIEW: This summer has been a challenging one, never the less fun at the same time. A lot different from last, being that I didn't go on any lavishing vacation spots or anything to that matter. Changes, could be the the word to describe not only this past year, but this summer. Changes in relationships w/people, changes in work, but it became all for the better. Ill end it this intro. here with this message one of my kids put on his AIM profile, 'Sometimes when everything seems good and u feel like the world is so perfect....something terrible happens....but you gotta just knoe that it will all eventually become better. Chin up everyone plz...look at the bright side...Gods there too'
JUNE: June, next to november is the month filled with birfdays. During the whole month of june, it wsa like I woke up and I was saying happy birfday to someone new. ha! For the first time went to the hawaiian gardens casino for rob's birfday to play hol em. Well, I was too chicken to play, so I juss wAtched. Traveling from parish to parish trying to land a job at some parish, though I guess it juss wasn't in God's plan. Work gave me more responsbility, giving me the youf action alliance to direct and lead. How challenging that has become as of lately.
The moya's celebrated their masters accomplishment by having a huge party at the other moya's household. Fun times from singing on the magic mic, noreen singing on my vmail greeting(which is still the same greeting to this day ha!)Jennevee teaching nini the '1,2, and swim' dance. One of my friends from the ol skool crew, who is mormon, returned back from his mission after being gone for like 2 years. Running/walking the track became a weekly thing ha temporarily until errone upgraded to 24 hr. fitness. NOt only were there birfdays galore, but graduations as well. Why do I feel like I wont graduate until the year 2010! Housesitting for my boss, the drive back and forth to irvine can be killer! BOss lady's birfday at kucielle's while doing the whole wine tasting thing. Lastly, the unforgettable debut performance of 'Heart of Worship.' Which I lke to call, 'God's perfect timing.'
JULY: After serving for over 20 years at sPv, the augustians roll out. The parish gets revamped with a set of 3 new priests. SOmething the parish hasnt had since it first became a parish. That's still taking some time to get use to. I began my three year term at the city of stanton, the longest I've ever been able to hold a job. Turned 23 4 days later, I had a great time celebrating it w/some friends at bjs. Reopened the notorious fern street center, where kids were coming in by the bunches. Bought a new digicam since the other one got lost in the nyc. Luther vandros dies after a rought battle with his stroke. Abe's hardcore all night long hawaiian birfday party, wow that was fun. SOL days with their annual bonfire at corona del mar, Anniversary party at the St. Liz, and myron's 30th birfday bash at boomers. I started to really get into the dance show 360, making sure I was home from work at 530pm errday to watch it. Went to the OC fair a couple of times, the first time I had gone in ages. Some great movies with some great ladies in it, came out like fantastic four and the island. The burr and boss lady celebrated their one year and many more to come anniversary. 'Dont mess with texas!' haha Jennifer's 28 suprise birfday party at cpe was fun. Visited fr. paul at this new parish in the hb, talk bout cribs! My boss coming back surviving the hurricane in cancun with lots of stories to share. Archie hooking it up w/my own 24 hr. fitness account wooO! The month ended with errone celebrating the 'after party at cana.' Hmm highlight of the month? Heart of worship becoming official with Holy Family in Artesia...like I keep on saying, God told us, 'welcome home, it's been a long journey.'
AUGUST: Even though I didnt get a chance to go anywhere exotic, I still am grateful for the fact I was able to get away for a day. August was jam packed with one thing after the other. The day at daygo was great. Learning how to rekayak all over again, seeing the seals or whatever they are from the ocean. GOing to dineyland for nini's birfday was real fun, bonding w/tito jess and cha was even better. Universal studios, was drama, too bad I didnt fully enjoy that trip. Stupid summerfest came and gone, good thing it wasnt that bad. The weather really heated up cuz it was juss blazin hot for days! Through myspace, I was able to reconnect with some friends who I havent seen since hs. Unexpected announcements came throughout the month, but also exciting. HoW singing for the 11am youf mass on sundays, was a blessing. Getting to know and connecting with the youf, 'unity through Christ' group...awesome! Learning the joy of serving comes in the small things, not the big ones. The mayor of stanton dies, which falls under the 'unexpected announcements' catagorey. World youf day smash hit, too bad I didnt go. Closing down fern street for good, was sad. Relighting the fire through the growth retreat last weekend was a perfect way to end the month.
CONCLUSION: There you have it summer '05 in a nutshell. Obviously, if you wanted more detail on certain evens you could always check back in the archives. There were a lot of happy moments as well as difficult ones. However, its been a pretty cool summer. Now to look forward to the rest of this year. I cant wait to see what God has in store for me, in these upcoming months. Im hoping to get a new job before the end of the year is over. I'd love to work in the skool district. I guess since the new skool year is starting I should start looking again. This is probably the best time to search. Im only tyring to hang on to stanton til after spirit games is over. Though we'll see how God works and wha He wants and wha he doesn't.
TODAY: So you know I couldnt possibly end this entry with out talking bout today. Praise God for labor day, that one extra day to recover after a long weekend. I slept in til bout 1030am ish this morning, which felt soooooooo good. In all my 3 years going to scrc, this probably the most sleep I've gotten that weekend. The whole hotel idea is really smart, I think Imma do that again next year. Spent the afternoon with the fam bam doing bbq and eating like no other. I need to go back to the gym again. Who knows how much weight I've probably put on. Stopped by holy fam for the tail end of the youf group picnic. Fun times watching them dance and practice for their jam night this sunday! Ended up going w/them to cpk after for more fun and games.
"And I can't keep my eyes off of you..."im done, im out God bless!
