Long Over Due
"No human being is too big to be humble, but some human beings are too small..."
SO MUCH TO SAY: Man I have so much to say and so much on my mind, hopefully I'll be able to get all out. Its been a rough weekend with a lot to think about, though I think its all coming to a close, at least I hope so after today at least. There were some good things that happened, as well as some well...not so good things. Wow talk bout your faith being tested, talk bout being purified, its like that song through the wire. Over the weekend I juss wanted to go outside and juss screeeeeeeeeeeam and yell. Okay, Im being OA, anticipation and anxiety suck! As always though, through the good fridays there's always the ressurection.
ORAL QUIZ: In history we had this inclass oral quiz, where the whole class took the quiz together collectively and collectively got the same grade. There were 15 questions and the instructor asked random people a question from the quiz. Well the catch is we can agree w/that person or challenge it if we think its wrong. However there are only 8 challenges throughout the entire quiz. Also you cant call out answer or answer it for someone cuz its considered cheating. Well, we did well collectively as a group only missing one. We wouldve had 15/15 if some stupid guy didnt shout out the answer to one of the questions. agh!!!
HOLY FAM: I feel like I'm at holy fam errday now. I was there on thurs. after work to meet up w/the skit committee. Since the other skit wasnt working out I showed them another one that would possibly be easier to do. Turns out the youf were really touched juss watcing it wow! So wee decided we would do that one instead. Practiced it a couple of times, though its hard w/only person working w/them. THough I think we did okay for the first round. Ran into Fr. Johnny and he told the youf that it was great to see them around in the rectory and wants to see them around more often. Thas so cool to have such a supportive pastor of youf ministry stuff.
THURS. NITE HANG OUT: Thurs. nite hang out at the moyas was fun. Watching the family guy movie was even better. I got really sleepy though towards the end of the movie, maybe it was from the dinner before. I think I was really exhausted from all the festivities from the week. Anyway, I think those car bombs are kinda nasty, well it leaves you with an ugly after taste. Next time, I'll juss stick to wha Im use to drinking. It was fun hanging out w/juss the guys and jem, ha even though I some how knocked out. Oh well there's always next time I guess.
FAMILY FRIDAY: I had to work friday nite for family friday, small event but tons of people there. I didnt know it was mexican independence day, so you had all pretty much the 1/2 of the stanton community there. Agh I was really trying to hold my breath cuz there were some kids who were running around that I juss wanted to grab and tell them to sit down. Sometimes I juss wish parents took more care of their kids rather then them walking around and not paying any attention to wha they were doing. My patients w/them was real low by the end of the nite I wouldve became a real monster. Then my phone kept constantly ringing w/one person after the other calling. I know why now cuz it was the nite before spirit games! ahhh
ITS HERE: So after months and months of planning and prayer the big day was finally here. Ha no not my wedding! However it does kinda sound like that as if I was getting married. The 2nd annual spirit games! Got there early to start getting things set up and ready to go. Calvin and JOhn reyes were there also early enough to help prepare things. Check it, so calvin was helping me get out this podium I wanted to use for mass. Well as I was rolling on the street it went over the crack, fell over, and broke! agh! I was upset cuz I wanted to really use that for mass! Anyway, the day went real well and smooth, despite...well the small thing that happened. We were way ahead schedule, the games went well, and it was positive through the entire day. Im juss sad that I didnt get to see the last half of it, its like missing your fav. tv show and no one bothered to tape the episode! However though, I am extremely grateful for the communion of saints here on earth, my brothers and sisters who stopped and took a moment to pray for the things that was going on. Your prayers helped a lot and meant a lot, ah it was hard but God got me through the storm. See you all next year in 2006!!! By the way thanks rob and noreen for being my musicians for mass! Noreen I loved that song your heart today ahh! i love it!
SO WHAT HAPPENED: Im sure that's the one question that is burning in errones mind right now. Well, I had go into the hall to use the restroom and settle the whole restroom situation. Usually on the weekends we have functions inside the hall and there is a contract supervisor that's there. As I was coming out, I noticed the wall in the hall wasnt opened, so I offered to open it up. As I was pushing the wall opened, I had hit and broke the fire sprinkler. Water started to pour down like a waterfall, the fire alarm was going off, soon before you knew it hurricane stanton flooded the whole community center. Not a pretty sight indeed! Next thing I know the fire dept. is here, city workers are here, my bosses are there. We had to move the whole party across the street to the boys and girl's club gym. After the storm was finally over, I had the session inside my bosses office...not too good. He asked me wha happened and told me I could get terminated for this blah blah I offered to quit on tthe spot, he said no I have too many good qualities that outweigh the bad. In the end it turned out positive but I knew I was ready to go no matter wha the outcome was. I didnt get out til like almost 8pm, throughout the whole ordeal all I did pray in my mind, for compassion, understanding, patience. Sunday morning I went in and we all had to help clean the boys & girls club gym from the party.
THE AFTERMATH: The whole aftermath was juss dealing with errthang that had happened. Trying to figure out what was going to happen to me, wha I was going to do, weighing out my opitions, praying and discerning wha God wanted me to do. On top of that dealing with a lot of anxiety juss thinking of it. On sunday, after we cleaned up, I realized that errtime I would walk into the center, I would juss get a flashback of wha happened. In fact I shouldve juss taken a picture of it to show you how fast the water was pouring, it was freakin crazy! There's more to the aftermath but Ill go into that part later on.
AT HOLY FAM: Spent pretty much the rest of the day at holy fam, helping promote for the upcoming youf prayer rally this saturday! wooo! Yes, Im excited for it the kids have worked extremely hard to get this thing together. Tons of people were coming after mass either to sign up their kids or buy a tshirt. Attempting to get the suicide skit together, its hard w/juss one person helping these kids coordinate it. I gotta memorize the whole skit scene by scene so I know where to place them all. Its so funny I ran into tita mila and she goes to me something like 'once you serve God, you're always at his house!' Which is true, Im at holy fam almost errday. its cool though I enjoy having a place to come to.
FR. BILL: Went to the 530pm mass and fr. bill's homily was really good. Talking bout answering the call to work in the vineyard, but he didnt use the vocation spin on it. Anyway, during part of his homily someone's cell phone went off and he goes 'whether it be to answer his call...' haha he's a really cool priest, and he gets the congregation involved during his homilies good stuff. It was cool how the choir did the alleulia it had this whole different melody. It sounded like that one song called 'true' from the 50 first dates soundtrack.
TOO EXCITING: Sunday morning I woke up to get ready for work. As always I turn on my comp. check mail, blogs, myspaces etc. When I went to my gmail it said I had a new message from ryanimay, I almost nearly fell of my freakin chair! You see, juss to see wha would happen I sent ryan a myspace message telling him I work for the city of stanton(well use to ha!)and that I work with low income teens and were putting on this teen dance this friday and was wondering if he might be able to come out and show them some stuff. I didnt expect a response and let alone a response so soon...I was a-m-a-z-e-d! praise God for humble people! ha!
BLESSING IN DISGUISE: After a whole weekend of anxiety I learned out my outcome. I stepped into work and my supervisor pulls me aside. He told me in a real nervous tone, that the events that had occurred over the weekend have left a negative impact on many people. So he's giving me the fair warning to do one of two things: resign from my job and he had a letter ready to go and errthang or if I choose not to, I will be terminated. Yikes huh?! He said Jim(my director) and I did errthang we could to save you. Im extremely sorry this happened, I hate doing this but we will give you an excellent reference if you need us. Obviously, I took opition number gave my letter of resgination to the city clerk. Well I had to walk into the city manager's office(dun, dun, dun, skuuuuuuuuury!)my director there, and the city clerk. She read the letter and said outloud that I have resigned. Without any hesitation, the city manager said, 'accepted.' Took my stuff and said goodbye to a city where dream came true ha!
HOW I TOOK IT: It was difficult saying goodbye, I mean cmon I was there for three freakin years! Within those three years, I've accomplished so much in the various things I had done. Developed a lot of close relationships w/my coworkers as well as other city people. Stanton was like that show 'cheers' the place where errbody knows your name. At the same time, I know God closed this door, for something else to open(I hope!). On two different occassions we all know I tried looking for a new job, but the door was closed on me. So this couldnt of happened at a better time. Im grateful for errthang that has happpened there, and all the fun times Ive had. Im okay, in fact I feel this huge burden lifted off of me. It was time for me to go, jump out of the nest and go explore. I put in an application at cypress skool district, and there a couple more places I have to look into. Please continue to keep me in your prayers and juss hope that God opens up something really soon for me. In the meantime I want to take a vacation whos down to go?!
CAUGHT UP: So I think about caught up with wha has happened these past few days. I tried to blog yesterday but there was juss too much on my mind. Now I can juss release and breathe...finally! Another positive thing that has come out of all of this, is that I dont have to worry bout working this weekend yay! Time for some birfday shout outs!
BIRFDAY SHOUTOUT #1: On sunday was mark anthony's birfday, wow 24. Wha can I say bout this guy, he's a huge jerk ha kidding. Its funny how I ended up being at the same parish serving w/him again. He's a d0pe person to get to know, easy going, chill, funny, and you can learn a lot from the guy. Sometimes he can talk a lot haha jk but other than that he's a good genuine guy. Once you get to know him, you'll meet Jesus through him the same I have. Happy birfday ma!
BIRFDAY SHOUT #2: Today's is angie's birfday, er I mean angela's birfday. This chick is real talented so you better watch out. Her acting skills will blow you away! Ive seen though over this past year how much she's grown spiritually and its like whoooooa! Her love for Christ has totally deepend and you can see it. Besides all this, she's freakin so cool to talk to. Another person that you can totally get along with. Happy birfday to you annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng!
BIRFDAY SHOUT #3: On top of all that, my lolo celebrates his 99th birfday, wow 99! One more year and he will be the big 1-0-0! I praise God that he has given him such a strong life, and that he only is continued to be blessed with more. Its gonna be freakin great to see how big your family has grown, grandchildren getting married, some finishing skool, and others having kids of their own. Look at all the fruits that have bloosomed. Thas so exciting! I cant wait til the huge 100 celebration!
