Just The Beginning

COMPADRE: Happy 17th birfday going out to my confirmation companion, abe. I remember meeting this foo last year during youf alpha when I found out he had gone to a yfc camp. Then he wanted to my aide for confirmation this year. I didnt think he'd remember since that was the end of last year, but he did. He sent me myspace message at the beginning of the year asking if he could still be my aide. ANyway, it was blessing in disguise cuz I've seen him totally grow in his catholic faith. At the same time, not only was teaching my own students, I think I was teaching him at the same time. He's a great kid, w/a lot of gifts juss waiting to be nurtured. Im glad that I was able to get to know him a lot better this year, he's taught me a lot too. Not only that, I've gotten to know his family as well, his parents are great! Anyway, here's to you abe! Happy Birfday, keep on truckin...

CARNE GALORE: Im all carne asadad out, I;ve eaten pretty much nothing but carne asada meat all day long. Ha its good stuff though, especially when you havent had it in a while! So I was at the moya's for their early 4th of july bbq. We made carneasada meat and chicken, I helped him bbq it on the grill. Well, I put the meat on the grill ha thas bout it, errthang else was pretty much done already. I felt so sleepy after all that lunch and food, talk bout fatty fatty. THen I watched the drumline and took nick cannon shots w/rob's camera. Agh! then he deleted them, they were tight too! agh!!!!! After he deleted the first batch, I juss went back and took them all again! haa

MORE MEAT: After that I left for caroline and felipe's bbq at their house. Actually it was more less bbq and potluck. That meant more carne asada meat! I was too full to really eat, but I ended up eating more anyway. The meat sounds real good right now, ha but its too early too eat anything. So there was chicken, a lot of desserts, fruit, and more meat there. Their nephew is funny, I was watching him and the other kids play together. Anyway, he was telling the other kids not to hurt his tia's dog. He goes, 'dont hurt guys, that's my neice!' hahah then afterwards he was telling them to be nice to this girl, who was the only girl in the group. He said to them, 'be nice to (name) cuz she's our friend too now. THe other kid who wasnt nice to her isnt our friend.' hahah So they were watching the previews to the incredible and this preview to cinderella came on. Well then this other kid was lke, 'my stupid sister likes this movie.' oh man! This kid was probably only like 5 or 6 too! Oh yeah after all that eating, I ended up taking a nap on the couch! ha I totally make myself at home at other people's houses ha!

SEEN HIM: I drove to sPv afterwards for confession and it was cool cuz there was two confessionals going on. There's never usually two confessionals going at one time. I also met the new pastor, he looks different then wha I expected him to be. I had gone up and intro. myself to him and then there was this awkward pause. Then he goes 'im the brand new one here.' I said yah the new pastor. Then a little pause then asked if I go t othe spanish mass, I said oh no I was here only for confessions. Well then that was the end of it. I think I'm really going to lke fr. ed, great guy who juss so laid back. Maybe he's like that rght now cuz he's only been wha 2 weeks into being a priest. For the most part though he's real cool. So now I've seen the whole collection ha Oh yeah what's also cool is he automatically assumed I was filipino he didnt even ask, he was like 'Im assuming in filipino cultures...blah blah blah....' wooO

TRIBAL: I was watching this thing on national geo. on tribes. How boys are intiated into becoming men, I was getting grossed out watching it. What happens is that these young men or I guess 'boys' are held by their uncles. Then the men of the tribe make these dents into their skin with a razor. Oh man you should see what their bodys look like when it's done. The whole body has these little triangle type scars throughout the whole body. Theyre suppose to endure the pain as part of becoming a man. They had these bowls of blood that were from all the dents they were making. I cant even imagine what that feels like, gosh I'd freaking wouldnt even last for the first one!
