Fighting the Good Fight
"Seeing God means following Him wherever He might lead..."
Some more great stuff from the book, 'Wisdom of the Little Flower.'
I will die with my weapon in my hand.
It is important, too, to remember the strange truth that what for the moment may look like defeat later can be prove to be victory. So Therese, fought:
To think that I am dying in bed! I would have liked to die in an arena. The further you march on, the fewer battles you will have or, the more easily you will win them, because you see the good side of things. Then your soul will rise up above people. It is unbelievable how in the end everything that they wanted to say to me didnt even touch me, because I had reconginzed the lack of solidity in human judgements.
At first my features often betrayed the struggle, but gradually this impression disappeared, and the renunciation became easy for me, even in the first moment.
If you would only make what I have-a great effort. God never denies the first grace-which gives us the courage to act. After that the heart grows stronger and one strides from one victory to another.
We wouldnt simply let things take their course on that we can rest. We should always struggle, even when we have no hope of winning the battle. What does success mean anyway? God demands of us that we dont give up amid the difficulties of the struggle that we dont get discouraged.
The struggle goes on until we are on our deathbed.
After reading all this, it made me ask myself, 'Am I fighter or runner?' Often times many of us hate to struggle. We hate to suffer, we hate pain, we cant stand conforontation, we hate it all. The reason why the Saints were so great cuz they faced errthang head on. No matter the struggle, no matter the pain, they offered it all up to God. They put all thurr hope and faith in God and didnt look back. They continued to fight the good fight even if it seemed like thurr was no hope. St. Joan of Arc rushed to help free her country in the war, she was later captured, put on trial and then condemened. She was executed by being burnt at the stake.
In times of darkness whurr it seems like you may be lost, continue to give your soul to Jesus. I can recally myself, personally so many different instances whurr my faith was tested. The things I was seeing didnt seem like they were gonna get any better. Though, the more I doubted the more it felt worse for me. The best thing to do was to get on my knees and pray. Fight off the doubts and the negativity, and wait. Wait with hope and faith, things would get better. With God's grace and help the darkness was soon gone, and sun was shinning through.
GOd calls us to keep fighting even when it seems theyre may be no hope. ITs not gonna be easy and the road wont be paved out for us. Yet so many souls are seeking to know and learn bout Him. THough so many obstacles in the way blocking these souls from seeking that love theyre so looking for. So my prayer is that you continue to give GOd your all eacn and errday. That you continue to seek Him and show Him off to errone you come across. Give people the taste of heaven that theyre looking for.
Anyway on the site note, I decided to help serve at the SFC clp in bellflower. Agh I walked in and I didnt match w/errone else! Agh I didnt know the staff was all gonna whurr the same thing. Oh why?!
