Completely Over

"Prayer is the bulwark of chastity..."

ITS OVER NOW: Ah so summer came and summer went. After coming back from World Youth Day summer juss completely flew by. All in all summer was good busy with different activities but it was good. Now its back to the norms of working two jobs again(I got my job back yay!) and back to the daily routine. Im a little anxious to get back to work you can only do so much at home in the morning before it gets boring. Yeah, I had an interview Thursday for two positions and on Friday I was offered 1 out of the 2 positions.  Really happy cuz now I dont have to go job hunting anymore. Ill be working as a one on one aide with this down syndrome kid at Miller in La Palma. The benefit is that it's a better skool then the one I was working at before(same district) and the kid who I've been assigned to working with I know already. THe down part is that the Principal at the skool is craaaazy!! He's super anal and got ADD! Which means the staff is the same way too...oh why?! Butttt I juss gotta remind myself to stay low key, which is hard cuz I like to be sociable. Hopefully I'll manage and be able to keep sane.

SUMMER '08 REVIEW: As tradition it's time to wrap up the sum
mer and take a look at all the different events that went on this year. Erryear it seems to get more and more difficult to remember errthang ha I guess I'm getting old. I wish I had recorded errthang on video then I can juss put it together on imovie rather then typing it all out. However, reading helps you engage the mind and makes you try and 'paint a picture' of what Im talking about. Like I said earlier after WYD came and gone summer, it juss drove by. Anyway, long overdue but here's the summer 2008 in review.

JUNE: As always June is the beginning of long month full of birthdays, graduations, and holidays. The school year was wrapping up and I was beginning to feel real sad as it looked like the hopes of me being re-hired were really slim. Probably the hightlight of that month was the driving up to h
olly
wood to pick up the n.e.r.d. new CD that was released. Even though it was really fast and I really didnt get to talk to them or take a picture w/them it was still pretty tight seeing them in person. Made new friends with some OLF people as I partied w/them at disneyland...it was a nice min
i-break from work. Partied it up also for the first time at the 'O Bar' in cerritos that was an interesting evening h
a. At the same time participated for the first time also as a 'rose' in a debut. Aw I was kinda touched to be
asked to be a' rose.'  Then came the plethora of graduations from my cousin's grad. at kennedy, my padawan's graduations at mayfair, and some of the utc kid's grad. at gahr. The partying didn't quite stop at the end of the month either, from the bball game, to jaime's house blessing, the activities juss kept moving. Got really inspired to participate in the 'biggest loser' fundraiser ha but that didn't last very long. Made a really good priest friend too at the end of the month from St. Callistus.

JULY: The countdown for WYD officially began. July is also filled with tons of birfdays as well such as mine! ha I turned 26 this year...wow 26! I wanted to do so
mething but w/leaving to WYD the week after there juss wasnt
anytime. World Youth Day cam
e and went in a camera flash. THe festivities were awesome, the meeting of a
nd making new friends w/people from all over the world was unforgettable. Seeing the Pope up close...wow!! New Zealand was quite interesting not much to do see or do but it was juss nice seeing a whole new country. By the time I got home I realized how much I kinda missed Australia already ha. However all the hard work and drama was well worth a trip across the country. Caught up w/Alaine for a brief moment at Bj's and Cheesecake factory at the end of the month, so that was nice.

AUGUST
The action for the youf min. didnt quite stop. We started interviewing for our new core leaders and as always i
ts nice but gets tiring at the same time. Got to go to th
e OC fair w/my friend jenn, which was fun. The Olympics was all over the TV and that was cool-totally reminded me of being at WYD. Put together our 4th annual youth prayer rally which turned out to be a real big success. I was quite proud that being the chairperson, that for the most part errthang turned out pretty smooth. Got to hang out in LA for my cousin's 28th birfday dang I cant believe how old were getting. Its always fun times chillin' w/the cousins for any occasion. I got to see an old friend from churches new twins. Those kids and their parents are a true testament of trusting and believing in God. Went to what has been my 5th debut for this year...geez I had never gone to so many debuts until this year. ABby's going away party was chill, its kinda weird not seeing her at church anymore. Like them real world reunions on MTV, the Holy Family WYD delegation at a small reunion too at the end of the month. Ha I guess it's not really too much of a reunion being we mostly see each other at least 3-4 a week. Passed the HBUSD IA exam which was good news, but found out I ranked towards the bottom and wouldn't be granted an interview which was the bad news, but God provides. I got re-hired back at the Centralia School district but at a different school site w/a whole different position. That was real good news cuz I was starting to stress. However God makes errthang happen. As always the end of the summer is reserved for SCRC. Always a great weekend full of inspiration and renewal!

NEW LIFE: Its been almost 2.5 weeks since I've started work and man Im whipped out. Im a one on one aide for this little down syndrome 1st grade boy. Talk bout God's hand in all the planning...this ki
d and the family is real close to my mom since he was in my mom's sdc pre-school class for 2 years(including summer). This helped make work a little bit easier and less stressful knowing that I know the family pretty well. The kid is sup
er cute, but also super stubborn
most of the time. I think both of us are still trying to adjust but I love working w/him. Looking at him errday, especially when he smiles how much love God has for us. How important education and life is. That errperon's life should be valued no matter what they look like or who they are. I
really do love that one quote from the story Horton Hears a
Who, where they say, 'a perso
n is a person no matter how small.'

CORE RETREAT: Last weekend we had our 4th core retreat for this upcoming new core. It's crazy cuz these kids are so young and yet so full of energy. I was only able to make it for 1/2 of Saturday and the res
t of Sunday. We went camping 30 mile
s past Santa Barbara, talk bout far! It was cool cuz Saturyda night was the climax where we do the consecration and pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Also, before the final praise & worship for the evening we give them their parent letters to read as a 'surprise.' Watching
them read these letters makes me want to cry too ha even though I dont even know whas inside of them. I juss remember what's its like being a teenager and trying to make your parents understand where you're coming from. Watching these guys brings me so much hope that the church is still alive and ready to continue to serve it's people.

SPONSORS: Probably one of t
he top 10 greatest feelings in the world is being asked to be a confirmation sponsor. Last year I was a sponso
r for RCIA and watching my candidate go up there to receive God's gift is so inspirational. Brings back those feelings where you can first remember falling in love w/God or not even juss w/God but w/the Church. What it felt like to be inspired by your faith. As you get older sometimes it bec
omes more difficult to keep yourself inspired and motivated. Anyway, this year I was asked to be a sponsor by two of the kids from the youf min. I was real excited juss to do waht I can to help inspire them to be excited bout their faith as I was back in the days.

FALL SHOWS: I cant wait for the fall season tv shows to start to get back into motion again. Over the summer I got into Entourage from HBO siick show! Heroes season 3 will start and at least we'll get a full season not a half-ass one like last year where it ended in the middle of fall due to the stupid writer's strike. Lost im sure is gonna be the business as it always is...we should have a lost kick off party! Now Im into 90210 ha I use to watch the ol skool one back in the 90's and now I got into the new ones on tuesdays. Its juss funny cuz these kids on the show look a lot older than real high school kids...then again some high skool kids do tend to look a lot older now a days.

"Miss Independent that's why I love her..."im done, im out God Bless!
