Back to Life

"Dear young people, let me now ask you a question. What will you leave to the next generation? Are you building your lives on firm foundations, building something that will endure? Are you living your lives in a way that opens up space for the Spirit in the midst of a world that wants to forget God, or even rejects him in the name of a falsely-conceived freedom?"

BACK TO WORK: Last Tuesday was my first official day back to work. Talk bout playing catch up, ketchup! Phone calls, emails, and errthang else I had to catch up on. Apparently summer must be wedding season or something cuz I think I must've talked to at least 6-7 couples over the last week. Well 4 of them being newly engaged wanting to start their wedding prep. Its interesting working w/the wedding couples, I can kinda tell which ones are prepared and well which ones aren't fully there. SOmetimes I can tell its mostly the bride that seems concerned with all the logistical stuff where as the groom has no clue whas going on.  So not only was their wedding stuff but also Oktoberfest Entertainment trying to coordinate too. Slot do fill up quickly. There was this one who I called he wanted all 5 of his bands to perform. Umm yeah, I think not. Im trying to work on getting my main 'headline performer' for this year. L
ooking back on last year, by this time already I had locked down Passion which I was really excited for. Hopefully this year I can do the same and find some main headline artist that will be willing to perform. Time is running out...

BACK TO SCHOOL: So not only am I back to work, but Im planning on going back to skool this fall. I had applied for the Chapman extended program on the Irvine Campus. I went back in May to their orientation program and was really impressed by how organized and flexible the program was. My friend is currently going through their program and she really likes it so I'm really praying that it works out and I can get in. So if you can please keep me in your prayers that I get my fafsa and be able to get into the program that would be great. Speaking of, its funny when you go to target or wal-mart or any type of those stores cuz you start to see the skool supplies out and now you know the summer is dwindling down and is almost over! Ahh summer where did you go?!

NEW JOBS: At the end of skool year I was layed off from my job at the skool due to budget cuts. I thought it wouldn't be that difficult to find another job, but I guess I was proven wrong. Maybe I got too confident that with all the experience I've had working with school-age and high school children. So before I left for AUstralia I applied for 2 jobs, 1 for the county of ora
nge as a Title 1 aide and another for the city of irvine coordinating things for hs kids. The sad part I didnt even make it to interview process I had already been rejected! I was a little sad cuz I thought I had a good chance. Last week there was a job open back the at the district I worked at for Intervention Specialist so I applied for that. To be honest my heart really is working for the same district again. Juss today I applied for another IA position for the HB unified skool district, ahh hopefully I'll be able to get a call back for one of those positions. So if you can also please pray for those couple of jobs as well. Job hunting sucks! ha

SUMMER ACTIVITIES: The summer is dwindling down and yet there's still so much going on. This sunday we're helping with the Victorian Tea some of the kids and myself are going to serve and kitchen work. Its cool the CCW helped us w/our WYD trip major benefact
or so its the least the youf min can do. Yesterday we were at church all day handing out churros as a thank you to the parish for helping us support our trip. Afterwards we had core interviews for the upcoming core term. Sometimes I think the interview juss drag and I start to loose focus cuz after a while its get too be too long. Im glad that this time around we had a plethora of kids come out which is great that they want the opportunity to be in a leadership position. ALso Im glad we didnt come to a decision right away, give all of us more time to pray and discern who's right for the different positions. Then in 2 weeks, we have our annual Youth Prayer Rally on the 22nd. This year I've been selected to be the chairperson, but we're making a little smaller than in the past, which is good cuz its less stress. I also changed things up a little bit adding 2 co-chairs to over see the different committees similar to the way we did things for spirit gam
es. Then after that's over there's SCRC happening labor day weekend and I always enjoy going to that, its my end of the summer tradition. So there's summer in a nutshell! ha

AMAZING HOMILIES: Erronce in a while you hear these really inspirational homilies that kinda make you squirm out of your seat cuz it so applies to you. Yesterday at mass, was one of those type of homilies. Reflecting on the homily on the miracle of the multiplication of the bread and fish, Fr. shared how sometimes we want to serve only wh
en its convenient for us, and how we tend to find excuses for ourselves. ha! i thought to myself, 'wow thas so me sometimes!' ha or how we're too selfish to share rather then considering these things as blessings from God. Fr. then started to talk bout how this type of attitude shows the absence of trust in God, and how were ungrateful for all these blessings God has given to us. In the gospel Jesus shows how the community went from a selfish community to a 'sharing' community. I liked how he talked about how mass isn't suppose to end in the 5 corner of the church but its suppose to extend to outside of the church. The Eucharist is living reminder to let us be aware and conscience that we are a community...were community people. God's generosity on the table of plenty is broken for all of us to share. When we celebrate the Eucharist, the sharing doesn't stop at the 5 corners of the Earth its suppose to extend outside the church. When we receive the Eucharist and say, 'Amen.' What we're saying is, 'Amen, I share with others.' The bread I receive is a blessing to others so that the mass lives on. Wow!

CHANGING THINGS: First off ABDC season 2 is almost ending...last week I was catching up on the last 2 episodes that I missed and I was surprised to see that Super Crew was on the bottom 2 two weeks in a row! Crazy! Then watching last weeks episode I realized that Fanny Pack has done well throughout the whole entire season. Them winning the title of 'America's best dance crew' wouldnt really surprise me. Oh yeah going off on a tagent real quick, the Yogurtland by work is freakin' finally open!!! Man that building has been there forever! Then before I left for Australia they put up the sign so I thought maybe while I'm gone it'll be open. I came back and it still wasn't open! Anyway, its good to know that it's there now I get yogurt on ym way to work yay! Since we're talking about snacks Tim Tams man! Tim tams are crackin'! These are the snacks that we all came to love while in Australia. They're kinda like twix candy bars but in a cookie type of form. I found out on Friday that they sell them at Cost Plus, so after this blog imma go pick some up. You have to try them cuz they're the best! Oh and one more thing, I decided to stop doing the scrolling marquee now ha too much of a hassle. Oh yeah and one other thing last wednesday I went to cheesecake factory for their 30th anniversary and waited for at least 2 hours to get my $1.50 cheesecake and it was well worth the wait! haha okay Im officially done now...

"We run this, yeah we run this..."im done, im out God bless!
