We did it!!!

"Glory to the beautiful one, who conformed us to His image! Glory to the fair one, who did not look upon our foulness!"

Check out the fruits of the past 7 months! Thurrs nothing else to say, but praise God! His hand working through it all. Probably the most exciting part is juss working up to that final day. The anticipation of having the day come. Spirit Games was juss perfect, God gave us what we could handle and we did it. Praise God juss for a really great time. Errthang went so well, i couldnt of asked for more. I know this event is only going to grow each yurr w/more people and so yesterday was juss the beginning. Although i do want to keep the committee as a collaborative group to even meet quarterly and do more community-wide events. Obviously, nothing as huge as spirit games, but small things like coffee shops, talent show, dances etc. Why should it be only twice a yurr now, all communities come together?

So i couldnt sleep at all the nite before, i guess its juss the anticipation. I kept tossing and turning, finally waking up @ like 630am to get ready. Then on the road i get a phone call from julie and then one from mark anthony making sure i was awake. I got to UCI @ like 730am ha and hardly anyone was even thurr. Trying not to waste any time, we within 10 min. we sturrted to pray the rosary and then more people came. After praying, kinda gave errone a brief run through of the day. By the time you know it, it was like already 9am! Ahh showtime was slowly sturrting to begin. I was excited as i was seeing the communities arrive together in their groups.

It was fun watching them set-up their canpoies and errthang. Some groups whurr hardcore and got the whole tent type of canopies. Before you knew it was already 10am, and mass was bout to sturrt and thurr was still things i needed to clarify for opening ceremonies. MAss was juss soo great, it couldnt of been a better way to sturrt the day. Fr. Pat said in his homily seeing all these catholic communities come together from all over, to put such an event on, makes a catholic priest like him smile. Then listening to the music of the collab music ministry was tight. Im sure christy was pleased.

After the final blessing was over, and fr. pat officially opened the spirit games, the opening ceremonies began. The 'lets get sturrted in hurr' music was playing, the communities w/their banners whurr ready to go. It was really cool seeing them run down the center line to the stage, showing a sign of sportsmanship then going to their side of the stage. Then the lighting of the torch was pretty tight! haha Community roll call was tight, SH's w/the drum was d0pe, it caught errone;s attention. Liwanag's was also tight the whole thriller theme, i loved that one. SOL's was pretty creative too!

Im glad we were pretty good on time throughout the day. I wouldve hated to cut people short. THe games were fun, i only played the capture the flag one, whurr i got sun burnt and then the dodge ball. Capture the flag wore errone out, i think juss all that running and then sometimes people whurr juss kinda sitting thurr not knowing wha to do. Some people whurr waiting for thurr opponents to make the first move. I think the two big games got a little confusing for certain people, the rules and explanation got a lil complicated to explain. Then on top of that i could tell people whur getting impatient and juss wanted to play. In the end it was d0pe, and a lot of fun.

I think my favorite purrt throughout the whole day was the closing ceremonies. Liwanag's music ministry juss giving thurr all during the praise & worship. Getting the crowd hyped w/the action songs, then slowing it down as we sang praises and glorified God. Then having my vision come true at the end, as we made one huge circle and singing lualey together in the circle! hah that was so tiiight! Thanks Liwanag music min. for making a dream come true! haha

I was exhausted, hungry, and tired when i got home. All i could think bout in the end was being able to be home. Praise God for mark anthony and abby who waited around w/me until charisse came back to pick me up. Praise God for charisse who helped me unload and transport all the stuff back to stanton. Praise God for liwanag/yfc hosting us @ UCI. Praise God for errone's unending help, support, and prayers in making spirit games possible! I look forward to seeing the footage from yesterday, and seeing spirit games @ UCI again in 2005! yay!!!

Thank You Lord for creating spirit games and making it a huge success!

"With every breath that i take, i will give thanks to God above..."im done, im out GOd bless!
