Today is the feast day of St. Therese of Lisieux, the feast of the "Little Flower." Today was the screening for her movie, too bad i couldnt go! I hope that they have another one so i can go and check it out. Well let me give you a little background info. on this Saint and who she is.
Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, nicknamed "Little Flower," was a Carmelite nun who lived at the end of the nineteenth century in the Lisieux, France. She was born in 1873 and was the last of nine children. Her family was moderately well off and had the income of two parents, her father worked as a watchmaker and her mother made lace. The family was loving, supportive, and taught a strong love of God and each other.

Therese's childhood was not completely happy. When Therese was only four her mother died of cancer. Seeking to give his children the best he could, Louis, Therese's father, sold his business and moved in with his brother-in-law, who lived in Lisieux. Louis was now able to provide individual attention and a stable life for his children. Louis spent large amounts of time with Therese, many times going to the Carmelite chapel to pray together.

At the age of 15, after gaining special permission from the pope, Therese entered the Carmelite monastery, where she spent the rest of her life. In her daily life, Therese lived a holy life and did not go out of her way to show her virtue. She sought to please God by doing the simple things, this became the basis of her "little way."

In April 1896, Therese began to develop tuberculosis. She died 18 months later on October 1, 1897. Therese was canonized in 1927, and declared a doctor of the Church in 1997. During her life, she had many writings, which were complied into books. One of the most famous is "The Story of a Soul."

SRE was great tonite! i had a full class and at one point in the evening i had too many kids and not enough desks. Apparently the rosters outside got mixed up or something. THough its always like that the first month of class. Majority of the kids are the same ones from last year and more. I was very strict w/them tonite, i had to give them that impression so i dont trampled on. I praise God that leslie from SOL is my aide for she helps me out soo much. It helps to have a real teacher in the room. I gave my kids, my contact info. including my blog address, im sure many of them probably checked them as soon as they got home. I also passed out flyers to errclassroom tonite and told them bout SH cafe. I hope my kids come!

I know its gonna be such a blessing to see the kids grow this year. To see the fruits they will produce at the end of the year. Ive been praying a lot for my classes, juss that the year is fruitful w/many blessings. Tonight it was funny i had the kids ask me some ?'s so one asked what i did all summer long. I told him busy w/sfc, scrc, yfc, lss, sh. Basically keeping myself busy w/CHrist-centered activities. I threw a lot at them tonite and i think it may have gone over their head. LIke how the catholic church is the one true church, and how Jesus is really present in the eucharist. Juss two important points that needed to be pointed out to them. I was also asked tonite if i had a girlfriend. I said of course, her name is ******* and she lives in *********** and is part of *** community. Naw im kidding, i said to them no, im waiting for God to send her to me. The class was like ooOhh wow good answer.

I took a short survey askign them how many were forced to come to SRE tonite or how many actually want to be hurr. ONly 9 of them said no, which is great that theyre honest. I told him i can only pray that i change your mind by the end of the year. Im really excited bout this class, i know God will totally bless us w/great things. Leslie and i prayed together before class started and we also blessed the room together. Shes a grrrrreat aide. Im not sure yet if i want to brng the kids up to prayer meeting, being the class is fairly large. Well see what God wants us to do this year.

Tonite was good chill time w/the boys. Its not very often now that we as in uprm hang out anymore. Its usually not even half of uprm together or its usually one person missing. I took mike, fred and robby to work to check out the stage area and so they can figure out what to do. They had a blast there playing w/the lights and pretending to play on stage. TEL juego met up w/us later. HAvent seen that fool in ages. I almost didnt go to dennys w/them to meet up w/arch. I figured i mine as well since its not often we come together as uprm. The last time all 6 of us was together was like gosh probably beginning of august.

I love uprm for 6 different reasons, i chose 6 since there are 6 of us...the reasons are not in any kind of order either.
1. They always have my back whenever, wherever,
2. They inspire me to keep walking in my faitn and never give in.
3. They pick me up when im down and push myself ot be a better person.
4. They each have a unique personality that makes them d0pe.
5. They are down for whatever, theyre not drama.
6. They are full of God.

And hurr is waht makes upper room so freaking tight!
Archie~This foo makes me laugh like no other. Always down to chill late @ nite, always looks out for my best interest.
Fred~His whole devotion to the church is incredible. I dont know anyone else who can match fred. His witty sometimes sarcasm keeps me going. Sometimes random fred jokes pop into my head and i end up laughing. His heart is always in the right place.
Jay~Always pushing me to become a better person. He taught me a lot of apologetics stuff when we had class together. Hes one of the most generous people i know.
Mike~His creativity and artistic abilities are juss crazy. This guy can makes tshirts, d0pe websites and write tight wisdom inspired stuff. Hes always been someone i can count and rely on. His intentions are always well and well hes one of the people who brought me into SH again.
Robby~Ahh this guy and i go way back to the halls of cypress college haha jk My passion burr is one hella d0pe friend. Hes my PA, my left wing compadre. Always makes me look at things from 2 different perespectives. Hes very giving of himself, and never lets me down. He is the wind beneath my wings! jk thas corny haha

So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen i present to you the boys of the Upper Room.

ANother highlight of the day is starting the phone rosary up again. I got to pray the rosary w/arissa this morning over the phone. It felt good praying it again. Congtatst to the new joshua burger king who has came into this world weighing 10lbs and 7 oz! Yay! i got another brother to play wif! haha congrts mom and pops!
