Its Been a Long Time Coming

“Any treatment which claims to save human lives, yet is based upon the destruction of human life in its embryonic state, is logically and morally contradictory, as is any production of human embryos for the direct or indirect purpose of experimentation or eventual destruction.”

BEEN A WHILE: Its been five years since I've last touched this website. In fact, everytime I would try to go it was redirecting me to the old tagboard website. I have to say that I was able to remove the tagboard from my blog so it runs properly now. About a week ago I was tagged to start this 5 days, 3 things youre grateful challenge. Highkey, I had been wanting to do something like that but then I felt like I had to be tagged in order to start it. The whole 5 day thing was nice and it brought back memories of blogging. In fact last week I think, I had this whole conversation about blogging. Im actually thankful that blogspot never got shut down. The best advice I received about my blog was to print out my entries and Im glad I did. Hopefully this will inspire me to blog again. Id like to be able to remember certain things that happened in my life.

ALS BUCKET CHALLENGE: The first time I saw the challenge Ill admit I thought it was funny. My initial reaction was, 'I hope I dont get called out to do something like this.' Then I started to read the articles that were associated with the ALS foundation and the whole bucket challenge. A lightbulb flashed and it made me realize how wasteful people were with the water. Of course its fun to throw a bucket of ice water over someone, but not when the state of California is in a serious drought.

GOOD STEWARDS: If there's one thing I've learned from Fr. Raymond its how to be a good stewards. We don't 'own' anything and for some reason we have this selfish mentality of entitlement. With that being said God has blessed us with land, water, food, etc. we need to take care of it and not waste it. Pope Francis perfectly back in May when he said, 'If we destroy creation, creation will destroy us.' If you put in context if people continue to misuse the water, we wont have any water left. If we dont have any water left, we will die.

EYEFORANEYE: The other part about ALS that I didnt know about was that it supports and fund embryonic stem cell research. It takes the stem cells of pre-born people to experiment on other people. This was the part that got to me most when I read the article, 'We can't do evil for the sake of some hoped-for the future good. If someone promised you that he might be able to save your life if only you'd let them kill someone else, would you take the offer?'  That statement right there hits home. Personally, for me, the guilt would be so strong that I dont think Id be able to live with myself. Thats what embryonic stem cell research does.

HYPETRAIN: I remember the hype of that Kony back what was it 2012? Everyone was all over the place with those stupid stickers. In the end we found out the really supported and people were like, 'oh crap!' It seems like in today's society we're quick to hop on the newest 'hypetrain' that ends up leading to 'nowhereville.' I, myself too have been guilty of doing this. At least I try and educate myself before getting real deep into it. People are so gullible about what they read and hear that they're quick to be compassionate and help out with the cause. It's great people want to help out and support, but at least do a little research first. People don't do that though cause they're lazy. 'Ehh it sounds legit. Ill just do it or make a donation.'

GRATEFULNESS: Im just glad that I have the necessary resources right now. There are people who would love to trade places with us. Yesterday reading about the one guy in New York giving haircuts to the homeless. Wow. To me that's what it's all about. Doing more than just pouring the water over yourself. Let me walk with you not ahead of you. Share with me your story, your life, who you are. The scary part is this is the generation who will be taking care of me when I get older. I really pray for more people like the NY guy. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

"One love, one life, one world, one fight." Im done, Im out God bless!
