Lucky

"God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains; it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world..."

FRUSTRATED: Okay so one of my major things is communication. I hate when people dont communicated with me. This has to be one of my biggest pet peeves. I dont know sometimes people dont think at all and they think its juss okay not to communicate. Agh thas already happened twice this week and it's really starting to irritate me. Im really trying to do my best and be understanding, patient but it's becoming more and more difficult. Communicate people! communicate its not that difficult!! A simple phone call or text would be sufficient!

BLESSED: Alright so there are days(like today) where I'm juss real frustrated at work cuz its juss busy and I'm all by myself. Then are days when I'm blessed cuz God uses me to help make the difference in other peoples lives. This is going to come off like I'm some fatty but it really did make my day ha. There's two kids that come into the rectory at least once a month. They're a couple and they always normally come together. So when they come together they're always here for confession. Which is nice to see a young couple participating in the sacraments together. Anyway, the guy works at Lucille's and I todl him before he should bring me some food jokingly of course. Well today they buzzed the door and so when I opened it I saw a big bag of Lucille's!! I know, I know sounds like a fatty but it really made my day. I mean he got me the whole freakin' meal...! It made my day cuz it was a thoughtful gesture.

JPII: Ive been going to mass errday this week offering it up for YPR and some other stuff. Anyway, today I heard a really inspirational story about JPII. How he helped change the life of this once fallen away priest. Yeaah the story juss grabbed by attention and made me reflect on how great of a shepherd he was and how the church was so lucky to have a man like him. Too bad I didnt get the opportunity to meet him.

"And I want to know what makes your world go round..."im done, im out God bless!

When we need to slow down

"Nothing wins the heart like cheerfulness..."

SLOWING DOWN: I came across this from this catholic blog. When I read it, it jumped at me how important it is to really take time out of your day and juss enjoy it. Anyway, when you're feeling stressed at work or having a difficult read this and juss remember God does love you.

The Lord is my pacesetter; I shall not rush;

He makes me stop and rest for quiet intervals;

He provides me with images of stillness,

which restore my serenity;

He leads me in ways of efficiency

through calmness of mind, and His guidance is peace;

Even though I have a great many things to accomplish each day,

I will not fret, for His presence is here;

His timelessness, His all-importance will keep me in balance;

He prepares refreshment and renewal in the midst of my activity

By anointing my head with his oil of tranquility;

My cup of joyous energy overflows;

surely harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruit of my hours;

For I shall walk in the peace of my Lord, and dwell in His house forever.

"If you just realized, what I just realized..."im done, im out God bless!

You Got It

"Always follow in your faith, your faith is your guide..."

OLYMPICS: Wow first off the opening ceremony was crackin'! My cousin was saying that China has totally set the bar for olympic opening ceremonies and I have to agree w/her on that one. The technology and money put into it crazzY! Then the US is juss making headway from swimming to bball whoa!! Michael Phelps put swimming to a whole new level and to think that guy's only 23! I wish I had the energy and body to swim like that. Ha its makes me want to go to 24 hr fitness and start practicing for the olympics or something ha. Watching the olympics reminded me of Australia during WYD the whole feeling of being out there with all these other countries w/one goal in mind. Anyway, the olympics is good stuff. Back when they had in atlanta I was in love w/the Mag 7 ha well w/juss two of the 7...dawes and mociano. Then when Kerri Strugg had her infamous landing and messed up her ankle but won the gold anyway? awww those were good times.

MUSIC: I was watching ABDC from 2 weeks when Fanny Pack got shut down aww that was sad. I thought they were pretty d0pe, they had creativity, style, juss had it going on! So the week they were kicked off was 80's music nite and the songs they had on there weren't even really 80's hip hop, it was more less early 90's the music I remember jammin' too when I was growing up. Those were the jams like kid n play...ha I remember going to watch their movie, 'Class Act' back in 92 ha I was freakin' only in 5th grade at the time! hahaha Or what bout Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer for sure the Humpty Dance was 1990. AHh forreals though the songs back then dont even compare to the music in today's generation. I so remember trying to learn the 'running man' w/my cousin yeah total failure. I loved Another Bad Creation I wonder how old those kids are now when they got big they were like what 6?! I miss growing up and listening to those songs and wishing I could grow up faster haha

WEDDING COORDINATING: On Saturday I got to coordinate my very first wedding at the Church. The normal wedding coordinator was going on vacation that week so she asked if I wanted to do it. The reh. went pretty smooth and the couple were total cooperative which made things run smooth. I was really kinda nervous on the actual wedding day cuz you know
 a couple get married once so I didnt want to screw things up for them. Errthang ran really well that I was relieved once it was over ha. For as many weddings I've been to I thought I would've had it all down but yeah not so much. On Friday I even looked on youtube to see if they had any filipino weddings I can watch juss to kinda practice. In fact I even asked Rob to borrow his wedding dvd so I can see it to remember when to do all the extra stuff like the coins, veil, etc. Anyway, like I said I was thankful I didnt screw things up and they were really thankful how nice it was. I was kinda getting goosebumps during the rite of marriage cuz it was like wow this is it, this is like where they totally give themselves completely to God. It was funny one of the groomsmen asked me if I was a little nervous before they processed in I laughed I was like yeah a little. LIke I said all in all the wedding went really well and actually the same guy afterwards told me I had done a really good job. Also one of the aunties who teaches confirmation @ HF really appreciated me doing it and was talking bout how nice it was so that meant a lot. I think I'm ready to do more now ha

YPR: The planning for this big event has been going extremely well. I cant thank God enough for allowing me to keep sane through these past couple of weeks of planning. Its helped having the morning's
 off to get things done that's needed for the rally. In the past couple of weeks all the major logistics have been taken care of. The food, the stage, sound system and now its working on the minor details of the event. The individual committees have been working hard on their stuff. Im glad I chose to remove myself from skit this year maan that would've been a stress and a half. Trying to come up w/new skit ideas is hard. Oh and I added a new aspect for this year, Ive asked the charismatic group to be our prayer warriors for the evening praying in front of the Blessed Sacrament interceeding for all of us during the rally. Ah I'm excited things are happening!

ENTOURAGE: So before I left for Australia I had gotten into a new show called, 'Entourage.' A show that's shown on HBO about a group of 4 guys from queens who move down to LA to try start up a movie career. Anyway, so in July I had finished season 3 and I was excited to get into season 4, unfortunately season 4 wasn't or actually still isnt out on dvd yet. My friend who got my into the show burnt season 4 on discs and now Im almost done w/finishing season 4! woOo! Now I gotta get HBO so when the new season starts at the beginning of September I can dvr it. Ha I think I'm fascinated w/the show cuz of the glamorous life they live, not that living a glam life is the best but it's juss kinda cool I mean who hasn't thought about living that kind of life at least once before. Friday I gave Rob all my dvd sets hoping he'll get into it, but he has yet to take them out of his car...there goes 3 seasons down the drain! haa

JOBS: I called the skool district the other day trying to see what was up w/my pending apps I had turned in. The HR lady said she was going through them and they'll be calling soon for interviews. I'm really praying that I can land a job back at Danbrook. This October would be 3 years over at the skool and I've made a lot of progress there. Its juss sucks that they had to cut people off. It was funny I was at party today and this mentioned how people were so anxious to get Gray Davis out of office and so they get him out, Arnold comes in and California isn't even in a better situation then it was back in '03. Ahh Anyway, prayers would be greatly appreciated that I can land at least one of the two jobs!

"Call me a dreamer..."im done, im out God bless!

Back to Life

"Dear young people, let me now ask you a question. What will you leave to the next generation? Are you building your lives on firm foundations, building something that will endure? Are you living your lives in a way that opens up space for the Spirit in the midst of a world that wants to forget God, or even rejects him in the name of a falsely-conceived freedom?"

BACK TO WORK: Last Tuesday was my first official day back to work. Talk bout playing catch up, ketchup! Phone calls, emails, and errthang else I had to catch up on. Apparently summer must be wedding season or something cuz I think I must've talked to at least 6-7 couples over the last week. Well 4 of them being newly engaged wanting to start their wedding prep. Its interesting working w/the wedding couples, I can kinda tell which ones are prepared and well which ones aren't fully there. SOmetimes I can tell its mostly the bride that seems concerned with all the logistical stuff where as the groom has no clue whas going on.  So not only was their wedding stuff but also Oktoberfest Entertainment trying to coordinate too. Slot do fill up quickly. There was this one who I called he wanted all 5 of his bands to perform. Umm yeah, I think not. Im trying to work on getting my main 'headline performer' for this year. L
ooking back on last year, by this time already I had locked down Passion which I was really excited for. Hopefully this year I can do the same and find some main headline artist that will be willing to perform. Time is running out...

BACK TO SCHOOL: So not only am I back to work, but Im planning on going back to skool this fall. I had applied for the Chapman extended program on the Irvine Campus. I went back in May to their orientation program and was really impressed by how organized and flexible the program was. My friend is currently going through their program and she really likes it so I'm really praying that it works out and I can get in. So if you can please keep me in your prayers that I get my fafsa and be able to get into the program that would be great. Speaking of, its funny when you go to target or wal-mart or any type of those stores cuz you start to see the skool supplies out and now you know the summer is dwindling down and is almost over! Ahh summer where did you go?!

NEW JOBS: At the end of skool year I was layed off from my job at the skool due to budget cuts. I thought it wouldn't be that difficult to find another job, but I guess I was proven wrong. Maybe I got too confident that with all the experience I've had working with school-age and high school children. So before I left for AUstralia I applied for 2 jobs, 1 for the county of ora
nge as a Title 1 aide and another for the city of irvine coordinating things for hs kids. The sad part I didnt even make it to interview process I had already been rejected! I was a little sad cuz I thought I had a good chance. Last week there was a job open back the at the district I worked at for Intervention Specialist so I applied for that. To be honest my heart really is working for the same district again. Juss today I applied for another IA position for the HB unified skool district, ahh hopefully I'll be able to get a call back for one of those positions. So if you can also please pray for those couple of jobs as well. Job hunting sucks! ha

SUMMER ACTIVITIES: The summer is dwindling down and yet there's still so much going on. This sunday we're helping with the Victorian Tea some of the kids and myself are going to serve and kitchen work. Its cool the CCW helped us w/our WYD trip major benefact
or so its the least the youf min can do. Yesterday we were at church all day handing out churros as a thank you to the parish for helping us support our trip. Afterwards we had core interviews for the upcoming core term. Sometimes I think the interview juss drag and I start to loose focus cuz after a while its get too be too long. Im glad that this time around we had a plethora of kids come out which is great that they want the opportunity to be in a leadership position. ALso Im glad we didnt come to a decision right away, give all of us more time to pray and discern who's right for the different positions. Then in 2 weeks, we have our annual Youth Prayer Rally on the 22nd. This year I've been selected to be the chairperson, but we're making a little smaller than in the past, which is good cuz its less stress. I also changed things up a little bit adding 2 co-chairs to over see the different committees similar to the way we did things for spirit gam
es. Then after that's over there's SCRC happening labor day weekend and I always enjoy going to that, its my end of the summer tradition. So there's summer in a nutshell! ha

AMAZING HOMILIES: Erronce in a while you hear these really inspirational homilies that kinda make you squirm out of your seat cuz it so applies to you. Yesterday at mass, was one of those type of homilies. Reflecting on the homily on the miracle of the multiplication of the bread and fish, Fr. shared how sometimes we want to serve only wh
en its convenient for us, and how we tend to find excuses for ourselves. ha! i thought to myself, 'wow thas so me sometimes!' ha or how we're too selfish to share rather then considering these things as blessings from God. Fr. then started to talk bout how this type of attitude shows the absence of trust in God, and how were ungrateful for all these blessings God has given to us. In the gospel Jesus shows how the community went from a selfish community to a 'sharing' community. I liked how he talked about how mass isn't suppose to end in the 5 corner of the church but its suppose to extend to outside of the church. The Eucharist is living reminder to let us be aware and conscience that we are a community...were community people. God's generosity on the table of plenty is broken for all of us to share. When we celebrate the Eucharist, the sharing doesn't stop at the 5 corners of the Earth its suppose to extend outside the church. When we receive the Eucharist and say, 'Amen.' What we're saying is, 'Amen, I share with others.' The bread I receive is a blessing to others so that the mass lives on. Wow!

CHANGING THINGS: First off ABDC season 2 is almost ending...last week I was catching up on the last 2 episodes that I missed and I was surprised to see that Super Crew was on the bottom 2 two weeks in a row! Crazy! Then watching last weeks episode I realized that Fanny Pack has done well throughout the whole entire season. Them winning the title of 'America's best dance crew' wouldnt really surprise me. Oh yeah going off on a tagent real quick, the Yogurtland by work is freakin' finally open!!! Man that building has been there forever! Then before I left for Australia they put up the sign so I thought maybe while I'm gone it'll be open. I came back and it still wasn't open! Anyway, its good to know that it's there now I get yogurt on ym way to work yay! Since we're talking about snacks Tim Tams man! Tim tams are crackin'! These are the snacks that we all came to love while in Australia. They're kinda like twix candy bars but in a cookie type of form. I found out on Friday that they sell them at Cost Plus, so after this blog imma go pick some up. You have to try them cuz they're the best! Oh and one more thing, I decided to stop doing the scrolling marquee now ha too much of a hassle. Oh yeah and one other thing last wednesday I went to cheesecake factory for their 30th anniversary and waited for at least 2 hours to get my $1.50 cheesecake and it was well worth the wait! haha okay Im officially done now...

"We run this, yeah we run this..."im done, im out God bless!
